Today we experienced a confluence of litter pickup volunteer groups. @keepaustinbeautiful organized volunteers to clean up 360 trees, and when they had too many helpers, they sent folks to clean up Bull Creek. We had scheduled @generationserve volunteers and we weren’t sure there would be anything left. BUT! One family stumbled onto a large stash of “vintage litter” just off trail. The loot included old-style glass bottles as well as broken containers. So it wasn’t for nothing, and we appreciate everyone who came out on this beautiful, but chilly morning! As an aside, we should recognize that @keepaustinclean while helping KAB, cleaned up an apparent dumping site in the woods just off Lakewood – mattresses and a couple of toilets – and hauled these off on a flatbed trailer. Much gratitude to this group that organizes monthly Tuesday events throughout the year.
