About Ruby’s Rainbow

“Ruby’s Rainbow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization inspired by a little girl named Ruby who was born with an unexpected, 21st chromosome. Finding out she had Down syndrome did not change her family’s expectations for her future, and they vowed to give her every opportunity they could to learn, grow, flourish and become an important contributor to society and the community. Through these expectations came the desire to help others ‘rockin’ that extra chromosome’ on their journey toward higher education and independence.“

Aren't @charli__webre_ and her mom the cutest?! I hope Ruby still wants to hang out with me when she gets older. I am already embarrassing her big sister 😂❤️ Charli was one of our Rockin' Recipients back in 2015 – she graduated from the @ullifeprogram at the University of Louisiana and it's no surprise that she's continuing to rock it at life!! 😍😍 . . She's still working as an assistant teacher at a children's learning center and is still taking a hip-hop dance class (I need to get her and Ruby together!!) She also recently participated with her mom in a series called "Acadiana Cooks" – they were guest chefs at Cafe Sydnie Mae restaurant in Breaux Bridge, LA!! A portion of the proceeds were donated to charity 🙌❤️ We are SO PROUD of you, Charli – you and your mom rock!!! . . . . #Rockinrecipientsrule #rubysrainbow

Ok guys…meet the players we have in the game for the month of October!!! Have you ever seen this much AWESOME in one photo?! We have 13 Rockin' Recipients at @clemsonlife right now…needless to say, my cheeks were sore from smiling so much!! . . We got to personally see the independence and confidence each one of these faces here is gaining and it's INCREDIBLE! It's everything and more that I hope and dream for my own daughter one day. What I loved so much about getting to hang with all of them on campus was seeing how they fit in and were just like ANY other student walking around on campus, which is something I want so desperately for Ruby…to be seen and valued for the amazing lil human she is. ❤️ . . A little bit about ClemsonLIFE: . . The ClemsonLIFE program at Clemson University is "designed for students with intellectual disabilities who desire a 2 or 4 year residential, postsecondary experience on a college campus. It offers a collegiate experience that prepares young men and women with intellectual disabilities for competitive employment and independent living through a combination of academic coursework and career exploration." . .
