How to Volunteer in Austin During COVID-19

Here are three easy ways you can help out Austin nonprofits right now:

  1. Volunteer virtually. Many Austin nonprofits have made the transition to virtual volunteering to allow us ways to give back as we stay at home. Remote opportunities include administrative tasks, consulting, grant writing, and more.

  2. Join a nonprofit board. Do you have skills and experience that could help a nonprofit prepare for the future and thrive? Whether you’re a marketer, lawyer, accountant, or graphic designer, a nonprofit out there is probably looking for someone with your insight. You can explore listing sites like BoardSource and boardnetUSA for local and nationwide opportunities.

  3. Volunteer in person—socially distanced, of course. A few select nonprofits in Austin, including Austin Pets Alive!, have developed safe ways to train and onboard new volunteers for in-person positions.
